Aston Villa's John Carew out to give Shearer and Newcastle United hell

VILLA hot-shot John Carew is ready to shoot down Alan Shearer today – even though the Newcastle boss is among his top three greatest goalscorers.

Carew places Shearer alongside Brazilian world-beater Ronaldo and Spanish superstar Raul as one of the best ever strikers in world football.

But the Norwegian powerhouse is still hoping to be Shearer’s worst nightmare by sending the Toon Army down at Villa Park this afternoon.

“Nobody in modern football can or will copy what he’s done in front of goal,” said Carew.

“I’m a big admirer of him so I wish him the best of luck, but we are going to go out to win the game. That’s how it is and how it should be.
