We can conquer Europe says Aston Villa star

GABBY Agbonlahor believes Aston Villa’s improved record against the Premier League big-boys is proof that they can conquer the cream of the continent in the UEFA Cup.

Villa face a tough task to progress to the last 16 of the competition after being paired with Russian club CSKA Moscow in Friday’s draw for the knockout stages.

But Agbonlahor believes Martin O’Neill’s men have nothing to fear in the UEFA Cup and attributes his optimism to this season’s successes against English football’s elite.

“If you look at the way we played to beat Arsenal and Everton away and get a draw against Manchester United at home we can mix it up with the big boys,” said Agbonlahor.

“We drew with Liverpool earlier in the season so we don’t really fear anyone at the moment.

“If we can do well against the best teams in England, they’re some of the best teams in Europe, so we’ve go to be confident of doing well in the UEFA Cup.

“We’re not scared of anyone really, we can go anywhere and do well.”
