Big Phil Scolari's Chelsea to bid £18m for Aston Villa's Gareth Barry?

The newspapers have been full of Gareth Barry talk this weekend with the news that Big Phil Scolari is looking to take the midfielder to Chelsea in January.

Could this be the start of another saga? Perhaps not. Chelsea want to replace Essien and Big Phil is a keen admirer of Barry, the money wouldn't be an issue, Chelsea have cash in abundance and will be looking to build on what looks likely to be a very good season for them.

So would Aston Villa sell Gareth Barry after all should the money come in and would he want to leave still? Is it inevitable that Barry leaves?
