A message to Arsenal and Arsene Wenger from an Aston Villa fan: Hands off Gareth Barry

JUST when you thought it was safe to be an Aston Villa fan and look forward to the new season, Arsene Wenger has to pipe up and throw a spanner in the works.

Yes, Arsenal are indeed keen on Gareth Barry, there was a bit of speculation a few weeks back but never confirmed, now our French friend has confirmed that he is interested in Gareth Barry.

Great, another few weeks of transfer farce and unsettling times for Villa fans!

Well I think Wenger needs to get one thing straight, we don't want to sell Gareth Barry, if you are insistent that you want to buy him and he wants to go then make sure you have the dosh. we don't want another Rafa situation on our hands.

Gareth Barry is our player, despite him insisting he wants to team up with Stevie G and the Anfield crew we do kind of like having him around.

So DO ONE Wenger, unless you have some serious cash to back up your interest. Can understand you wanting to improve your team though - it's a shambles - you never recovered from losing Big Tone, Wrighty and Thierry.
