There’s a real buzz about this one
IF you’re after a dining room with a view, bumble along to The Honey Bee in Doverdale, near Droitwich.
It was a beautifully sunny day when we ventured there and the sunshine streamed into the light, bright restaurant as we looked out over ponds and undulating hills.
There’s also a fabulous wooden children’s play area and patio which must make it great for summer al fresco dining.
The menu is extensive with classic steaks and pub grub alongside flavours from abroad. My hubby and I went for the more exotic side.
I chose Mexican fajitas (£9.99). These strips of tender fillet steak and chicken, marinated in the pub’s own olive oil sauce and stir-fried with peppers and onions, were served sizzling on a hot skillet – a real head-turner.
They were served with five warm flour tortillas, lettuce, guacamole, cheese, sour cream and salsa. It was a huge portion and really tasty, especially as the meat fell apart in your mouth.
Adam had a Taste of the Deep South (£7.99). He thoroughly enjoyed his mammoth portion of chicken goujons, Cajun chicken strips and ribs with salad, corn on the cob and a mountain of curly fries.
We shared a Toffee Lumpy Bumpy Pie (£2.99). Considering it was full of toffee sponge, toffee mousse and cheesecake with caramel chocolate coating, chocolate and caramel pieces and ice-cream, it was quite light.
The bill, including a glass of wine and a soft drink, came to just over £25.
