Nostalgia: Easter fun

IN my Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it ...

Our lovely set of nostalgic Easter pictures shows all the fun and frivolities of this very special holiday over the years.

Back in 1987, House of Fraser (or Rackhams as it was known then) was selling an Easter egg for a whopping £142.

In 1958, Littlewoods boasted an egg the size of a small child.

And people everywhere over the years have got together to paint eggs, make bonnets and go on parades.

And, of course, there were also plenty of hot cross buns too – with bakers Mike Goddard, Gerhard Patzer and Pater Inger making a massive 12lb bun in 1976.

Happy Easter everybody!
