Nostalgia: Coronation Day street party

TOM ADAMS, from Hall Green, sent in these wonderful photographs of a Coronation Day street party in June 1953. He writes:

I recently met a friend of mine, Diane Davieson, who lived in Carlton Road, Small Heath.

She mentioned that she had two photographs of the Coronation street celebration that her friends from the road would be glad to see.

She particularly remembers the Reddings family (mother next to the man holding the ball), the Hansons and the Baughans – and the happy memories she had of living and growing up with her neighbours in the road.

Diane now lives in Wales with husband Graham and wishes to be remembered to all her old friends. She hopes that these photos bring back happy memories.
