Birmingham University 'suicide' shock

The building houses the school of engineering and was built in 1973. It was named after the first professor of electrical engineering at the University and recently underwent an expensive refurbishment.

An inquest into the death was opened and adjourned on Tuesday by Birmingham coroner Aiden Cotter.

Mr Omer’s brother attended the hearing, which was told that the dead man was originally from Sudan.
