EastEnders spoilers from August 15

WHAT happened to the cool, elegant woman who never has a hair out of place? Vanessa has been replaced by a screaming ball of fury, who lashes out in a way that would put fellow blonde, Corrie’s Becky, to shame.

She reacts violently when Michael tells her about Max and Tanya’s secret bedsit. She confronts her love rival, then returns home and has a massive meltdown, smashing everything in sight. Jack and Carol break in and carry her out, kicking and screaming.

Vanessa is left with no man, no money and no home, and forced to stay in the B&B. Michael offers to help get her back on her feet, but at a cost – in return, she must get close to his dad and then break his heart, in revenge for Eddie apparently killing Michael’s mum.

Meanwhile life’s not exactly rosy for Tanya, whose worst fears are confirmed when she’s told she has cervical cancer.

Also this week, Jean, Pat and Norman all play Pearly Kings and Queens at a fete, while Whitney romances newcomer Lee, who turns out to be connected to nasty pimp Rob.
