VIVA BROTHER
Famous First Words (Geffen)
HTHEY’VE changed their name after a band called Brother threatened legal action, but don’t expect further compromise from the Slough newcomers. The debut set recalls the heady Britpop duel of Oasis and Blur with the return of guitar pop. Songs such as Electric Daydream and Fly By Nights fair reek of the brothers Gallagher, while Time Machine nods to John Squire’s late lamented Seahorses. There’s nothing new here – but it’s just like a good night out used to be. PC
