w ONCE essential viewing, later the subject of cruel ridicule, whispering Bob Harris-hosted OGWT gave TV time to the biggest names in rock. Included on a double-CD set are the likes of Little Feat (Dixie Chicken), The Faces (Ohh La La), Rory Gallagher (Bought & Sold), Robert Plant (Big Log), Santana (Samba Pa Ti), Eric Clapton (Behind The Mask) and many more. Most of the 38 tracks are the recording studio originals but both Patti Smith’s Because The Night (penned by one Bruce Springsteen) and Al Stewart’s Year Of The Cat are live takes from their Whistle Test gigs.
