LUDOVICO EINAUDI
Nightbook
(Decca)
wITALIAN pianist and composer Einaudi is something of an engima, his music equally at home in the concert hall, the arthouse and the TV soap (you’ll have heard his work in Holby City without realising it!) His latest piece attempts to catch that moment between day and night, light and darkness, the known and the unknown. If all that sounds a little heavy, rest assured that the album is easy on the ear, more mainstream than ambient, more Wakeman than Eno. Take the rare opportunity of seeing him live at Brum’s Symphony Hall on October 27. PC
