Wolverhampton singer Scott Matthews is set for great things

“I worked with that softer element of my voice, too, and the two tones work together. That’s why the song is so good.”

Plant was so impressed that he invited Scott to tour with him and Krauss on their sell-out tour.

“He’s such a down to earth guy, which speaks volumes about him personally,” says the Black Country singer. “He makes you feel welcome. And he’s one of the best singers around – no one is better than him. When you hear Led Zeppelin I, II and III, the raw energy in his voice is frightening.”

Scott is currently out there, playing solo and semi-plugged – something he plans to carry through into his third album.

“You can get a bit complacent, so I wanted to test myself,” he explains. “The secret to a good song is being able to play it as simply as possible and retain the substance.”
