EVEREST - Ghost Notes (Vapor)

WHAT d’you get when you put the members of LA’s best indie bands in a studio summit together? Not at all what you’d expect. Everest’s debut is an instantly accessible set opening with Maroon 5-friendly pop undertones before dipping its toe in the prog-rock pool.

So while Trees is a light breeze, Into Your Soft Heart adds old-fashioned power chords, and Reloader is a rock and roll charge. The rambling I See It In Your Eyes, with acoustic guitar underpinned by electric organ, teeters on a Neil Young tightrope, and the lush Only In Your Mind is fluidly Floydian.
