Elliot Minor - Elliot Minor

(Repossession)

IT’S already spawned six hit singles, and now the Yorkshire band’s debut album is getting a new lease of life to promote their summer seaside tour.

They’re easy on the ear (imagine Fountains Of Wayne and ELO double-booked in the studio) and have a knack of churning out radio-friendly anthems blending US-style power pop riffs with classical flourishes.

The odd thing here is that although the likes of Still Figuring Out and Time After Time work well, the album’s stunning standout, minor key crescendo Lucky Star, hasn’t been singled out for chart release.
