Kaki King - Dreaming of Revenge

(Cooking Vinyl)

THE name may not be familiar but Kaki King is big news. Foo Fighter Dave Grohl was so knocked out that he invited her to play guitar on the band’s album and tour. Movie producers signed her up to join Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder on that Into The Wild soundtrack, and she was Rolling Stone magazine’s first-ever female ‘Guitar God’.

King’s fourth album is her most accessible to date, featuring vocals for the first time, her semiplugged technique secondary to fine folk-pop songs such as Pull Me Out Alive and poignant break-up ballad 2 O’Clock.

Catch her at the Glee Club on July 4.
