Judas Priest - Nostradamus

(Columbia)

Judas Priest

OKAY, the faithful have waited long enough. Here’s the new concept album from (drum roll, please) Spinal Tap! Spread across 100 minutes and two CDs, it’s a hilarious heavy metal mickey-take.

But, wait a minute, I’m mistaken. It’s the new album from Black Country bruisers Judas Priest – and it’s still laugh out loud funny.

Rock riffs well past their sell-by date are dressed up in synth soundscapes, ridiculous lyrics and self-importance.

The steroidal Persecution briefly sparks interest but this really is Nostranonsense.

The finale’s called Future Of Mankind. We're all doomed.
