Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle thrills Birmingham

“We took a risk on it being good and it has been brilliant.”

Schoolgirl Kayleigh, 13, travelled up from Bedford with her grandmother Cindy, 62, and Katrine Dare, and was bowled over the professional performances.

She said: “It was just, wow.

“We came last year and it was amazing, this was the same.

“My favourite from this year was Diversity but I like George Sampson the best.”

Cindy, who breeds long haired daschunds, said: “I voted for Susan Boyle in the final and I really enjoyed seeing her tonight.”

Paul Steel, 28, an Army sergeant from Great Barr, Birmingham, and Chevette Mais, 26, who works in cosmetic surgery and is from Kent, enjoyed the night too.

Paul said: “It has been really good, everyone has been great to watch.

“When you see it on TV you think it can’t be like that but it was, I liked them all.

“I haven’t got a talent to go on stage with, my only talent is in the bedroom.”

Chevette said: “I really enjoyed it.

“It must have been hard for Susan Boyle what with everything going on in her personal life but she did well.

“But you never can quite tell what is going on and what is the truth about it all.”
