BIG Brother star Kate Lawler has revealed how she fled her Birmingham home after the gruesome murder of two sisters in her apartment block.
The Kerrang! DJ commented for the first time about the tragic deaths of Yasmine and Sabrina Larbi-Cherif on her Sunday Mercury website blog.
The bodies of the two sisters were found in a flat two floors above Kate’s rented home in Jupiter Apartments, Ladywood, on September 15.
A man has since been charged with their murders.
Killings
Former Big Brother star Kate lived in the same apartment where the killings took place and spoke about the horror in her latest Mercury blog.
“The last two days haven’t been that pleasant due to a horrible incident that happened in the building where I live in Birmingham,’’ she said.
“Two girls were found murdered in the flat two floors above mine. It’s tragic.
‘‘They were sisters, I can’t imagine what their parents must be going through – I have two sisters.
“I’m on my way down to London for a couple of days to get away from it all.”
Kate moved to Birmingham after landing a job with the rock radio station in October last year. She originally joined as a co-presenter with controversial DJ Tim Shaw for the Morning After show.
But she was moved to the drivetime slot after Shaw was sacked in May this year.
The former reality TV star has been writing her own blog for the Sunday Mercury since our new website was launched. Visit www.sundaymercury.net to read more.
